Oxley College ISA Rugby
Rugby is a key part of the College’s sport program, providing students with the opportunity to develop skills, resilience and teamwork in a competitive and supportive environment. The season includes two weekly training sessions and Saturday ISA fixtures, with all students expected to commit fully to their team.
Commitment & Attendance
Students are expected to attend all training sessions and Saturday games. Absences should only occur in cases of illness, injury or exceptional circumstances and must be communicated to the Sports Department via sport.admin@oxley.nsw.edu.au only.
Commitment to training and games is essential to the success of the team. Regular attendance ensures students are not letting down their teammates or coaches and are contributing positively to the team environment. Failure to meet these expectations may impact team selection and future opportunities and may require students to complete an additional season of sport.
Parents and carers are asked to support this commitment by planning family events, holidays and other commitments around the ISA season and training commitments.
Communication & Schedule
The weekly Sports Draw is published in The Oxley Update (via the Oxley App and website). Students must check Clipboard regularly for all training sessions and fixtures and ensure notifications are enabled. Parents can access schedules and detailed fixture information via the Oxley App.
Any changes or cancellations will be communicated via the Oxley App.
Season draw, results and ladders are available via the ISA website: https://isa.nsw.edu.au/fixtures/
All official communication is via the Sports Department — no communication should be directed to coaches regarding absences or availability.
Training Expectations
Students should be collected promptly at the conclusion of training (no later than 5:15pm). For safety, students are to be collected from the correct location, as listed on Clipboard and the Oxley App.
Students must be prepared with all required uniform and equipment for each session.
Parents and carers will be contacted by the Sports Department if a student is absent from training without prior notification, as part of the College’s duty of care and attendance procedures.
Game Day Expectations
Students should arrive at least 30 mins prior to the start of home games.
Students participating in the first home games of the day are expected to assist with set up and should arrive 45 mins before their game. Students participating in the last game of the day are expected to assist with pack up.
Students travelling via bus to away games should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to departure time.
Students represent Oxley College at all times on game days and are expected to uphold the ISA Code of Conduct and reflect the College’s values in their behaviour and approach to sport.
Uniform and Equipment
Students are expected to travel to and from all fixtures in their Oxley PE or Sport uniform. Only Oxley College uniform items are to be worn on match days. Members of First teams are expected to travel to and from games in full school uniform when changerooms are available.
