Student Technology at Oxley

Junior School

In 2026 Oxley College commenced a transition to a School Managed Device (SMD) model with Apple-based devices. For years 5-12, the SMD model comprises of a choice of either a school-owned School Managed Device, or a parent-supplied School Managed Device.

In the Junior School, from Year 5 2027 students will move to using MacBook Neos as the standard device for Year 5 & 6.

School Managed Devices mean that the device is configured and supported by the school to ensure a safe, consistent, and effective learning environment for students. The device is enrolled in the school's management system, allowing required educational software only to be installed, security settings to be applied, and age-appropriate internet filtering and software restrictions to operate at all times, both at school and at home. Students use their school email account as their Apple ID, and app downloads are limited to school-approved applications. School-managed devices also provide students with seamless access to learning platforms and technical support, helping ensure the device is ready for learning whenever it is needed.
