Brazilian Jiu Jitsu | Oxley College Skip to Main Content

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) at Oxley College is an exciting addition to our sport program, providing students with a unique opportunity to develop physical skills, confidence and resilience in a supportive and structured environment.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a grappling-based martial art that focuses on technique, control and intelligent movement. There is no striking, punching or kicking involved. Students will learn safe positions, controlled drills and problem-solving skills while working with partners in a respectful and cooperative setting.

Sessions will be delivered by Smooth Jiu Jitsu Southern Highlands, led by Stephen Reeks, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt with over 20 years of martial arts experience along with other experienced coaches.

Looking Ahead

This program is designed to provide students with a consistent and engaging weekly activity. As the program develops, there may be opportunities for additional experiences, including optional competitions in future years.

We are excited to offer this new opportunity as part of the Oxley College sport program and look forward to seeing students engage with and enjoy the experience. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu provides a valuable platform for students to challenge themselves, build confidence and develop lifelong skills.
