Oxley's Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA) Team on ABC Radio

08 October 2026

In August 2026, three Oxley students took their place on the national stage in Canberra, competing in the National Model United Nations Assembly.

Representing Lebanon, Jack (Year 12), Flynn (Year 12) and Amelie (Year 10) debated six UN resolutions on issues including global food security, hate speech, education for democracy and establishing lasting peace in Ukraine.

Competing against 22 teams from across Australia, the Oxley team delivered an outstanding performance to take home second place nationally - missing out on first by just 0.75 of a point!

Experiences such as MUNA give our students the opportunity to engage with complex issues, develop their voice and test their thinking beyond the classroom.
