Can you please share a little bit about yourself and your involvement with Oxley College life?
I’m Aston, and I love being involved in team sports, particularly cricket and soccer. I enjoy playing with my mates and working together to be the best we can be. I also love performing, whether it’s public speaking, debating, acting, singing, or playing the saxophone. I enjoy being part of The Oxley Band and Orchestra, as well as the Junior School Musical Theatre production.
What is your favourite subject and why?
My favourite subject is History because I get to learn about the past and the generations before me. Imagining what life was like, and learning about what has happened, inspires me and makes me think about how best to live my life. There are many famous people in history who inspire me and make me want to be like them.
Can you tell us about a memorable project or activity you have done this
year?
This term I look forward to every Wednesday after school for cricket training. It’s not just about improving my skills—I also enjoy getting to know students from younger years as well as older students in the Senior School who help out. The Year 6 excursion to Canberra has also been a highlight. Not only did we visit many national landmarks, but it was also a great opportunity to get to know new friends who started this year. I also look forward to OLE Week camp every year. It’s
always so much fun, and we get to try outdoor activities we’ve never done before, like kayaking and going on a flying fox.
What do you feel is special about the Oxley environment and community?
I feel very happy to go to Oxley. I especially love the huge fields we are lucky enough to play on. You end up knowing everyone’s name, and everyone knows yours. There is always something happening at Oxley, and everyone’s talents are given the opportunity to shine.
