What inspired you to pursue teaching, and what do you find most rewarding about working in education?

After 15 years travelling the world working in high end fine dining and resorts, I decided to go back to university and study to become a teacher. My uncle, sister and wife are all teachers, and it was something I had always wanted to pursue.

I find the most rewarding part about teaching is building relationships with students and their families and building up their social and emotional wellbeing.

What do you hope students remember most about their time in your classroom?

I hope that they remember the warmth, care and fun that I try to bring to the classroom. I believe that the best way students learn is when they feel seen and heard and enjoy being part of the class. Laughter is the sound I enjoy hearing he most in the classroom.

When you're not at school, what are some things you love doing or exploring?

When I am not at school I love nothing more than camping in the bush, swimming at the beach or running around the back yard laughing with my 2-year-old girl Ella, 4-year-old son William and my wife Emma.

What's your favourite thing about the Southern Highlands?

My favourite thing about the Highlands is the scenery. I have been known to drive the long way home so that I can look out the window at the open fields, dams, and creeks. We live in such a beautiful area.
