In the Junior School, we want the world our children encounter to be one of welcome, wonder and wisdom for all—a place where they are encouraged each day to Show Courage, Be Kind and Seek Wisdom.

We are proud of Oxley’s founding mission and rich history, but we also look forward with optimism to the opportunities and challenges of the future, while remaining grounded in the present.

Our aim is that your child’s Junior School years are joyful and magical—years they will always remember with great fondness. Education is, by definition, about growth, and here we nurture not only each child’s love of learning but also their sense of belonging, resilience and confidence.

Though Oxley was founded only forty years ago, it already feels woven into the very fabric of the Southern Highlands community. Perhaps it is the grace of Elvo and our beautiful grounds, but I believe it is something deeper—an inevitability that a community such as this should have a school such as Oxley.

The Southern Highlands is a place of high expectations, where families want their children to be able to stride confidently into the world—whether their path leads to Mittagong or Madrid, Bundanoon or Barcelona. Oxley shares those aspirations. With rigour, creativity and hard work, we believe our students can achieve almost anything. We aspire to give our students the opportunities of a ‘big city’ school, without the need to leave behind the warmth and closeness of a community like ours.

Here, every student is known and cared for. Our size allows us to offer variety and richness across subjects, sports, music, activities and friendships, while remaining deeply personal. Oxley is not just a school—it is a community, a place of growth, and a partner in each child’s journey.
