Year 10 Academic Assessment
On Wednesday 4 February, from 8.45am to 12.30pm, all Year 10 students will participate in two assessment sessions conducted by Academic Assessment Services. These sessions will assess students’ literacy, numeracy and reasoning skills.
Academic Assessment Services designs high-quality assessments aligned with key areas of the curriculum. The data gathered will assist the school in identifying areas where academic enrichment or additional support may be beneficial. The results will help inform our ongoing approach to delivering a curriculum that enables all students to reach their academic potential.
As the process for Year 10 students to select their HSC pattern of study begins in Term 2, this information will also support us in guiding students towards subject choices that align with their strengths, interests and future aspirations, including meeting tertiary entry recommendations for courses they may wish to pursue.
It is important to note that these assessments do not provide a definitive measure of a student’s abilities. For this reason, results will not be shared directly with parents.
Students are asked to bring a pencil, eraser, and calculator on the day.
