An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cleaner to join us at Oxley.
The Cleaning Team at Oxley College plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all students, staff, and visitors. Cleaners are responsible for carrying out a range of cleaning duties with care and attention to detail, helping to ensure the College meets high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
Cleaners are valued members of the College Services team and report to the Cleaning Supervisor. This role requires reliability, discretion, and a commitment to demonstrating respectful, professional, and positive behaviour in line with the values of Oxley College.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be adaptable and take pride in their work. A friendly and courteous manner when interacting with others is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out general cleaning duties across the College to a high standard of hygiene and presentation.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the cleaning team to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Follow all cleaning schedules and directions provided by the Cleaning Supervisor.
- Ensure all tasks are completed in line with College policies, procedures, and hygiene standards.
- Use cleaning equipment and products safely and as instructed.
- Take care to follow all Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements, including safe lifting practices and working at heights where required.
- Maintain awareness of and follow the College’s Safe Work Method Statements and other relevant safety procedures.
- Report any issues, hazards, or concerns promptly to the Cleaning Supervisor.
- Handle keys and access points responsibly and in line with security protocols.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with colleagues, supervisors, and other College staff.
The position is part time working 48 weeks per year with 4 weeks annual leave. Attendance is expected at all mandatory College key events and professional development activities as well as during non-term time periods when deep cleaning is undertaken.
